Description

The ‘Rainbow Colour Chart Cushion’ has been handwoven by me in my studio in North Norfolk. Inspired by the free paint colour charts found in local DIY shops, this check design features all the colours of the rainbow, and is my favourite to weave!

Woven from 100% lambswool and Donegal tweed, and backed with standard 100 Oeko-Tex certified linen, the cushion features a concealed zip closure at the back to allow for hand washing, and to allow the cushion to be placed any way up. A feather insert is included as standard. The cushion measures approximately 16×17 inches, with an 18×18 inch insert for a plump, full finish.

This is a handwoven item, and while I have aimed to achieve a uniform finish there will be some variation between cushions, and no two will be completely identical.

As this item is made from 100% wool it is handwash only.

About the Maker:

The Naked Weaver is Eleanor Dale, a handweaver and textile artist based in Norfolk, UK.

Born from a desire to be more creative during the 2020 lockdown, Eleanor launched The Naked Weaver at the beginning of 2021. Focusing on colourful, modern design using traditional techniques, Eleanor creates quality handwoven textiles, and uses the simple style of plain weave to celebrate the interactions between colours. The name The Naked Weaver reflects the simple structure of the cloth she creates, and also nods to the brief time she spent as a life model.

Eleanor has always been interested in textiles, and is particularly passionate about traditional wool based crafts. She comes from a family of knitters, spinners, and weavers, and through her own craft feels a greater connection to the women in her family.
