Meet The Maker: Bianco Perry

Who are you, where are you from and what do you make?

Bianco Perry! I’m a north east based gal who loves all things happy, outside and dog themed. I make homeware that you can relate to and that will improve your life, mood and home!

What inspires you?

The every day, snacks and packaging, seeing how we react when we see a cute dog in the street, watching friends hug each other when they haven’t seen each other for a long time. Putting condiments on your plates. Putting an Xl scrunchie in your hair and feeling like IT. Waking up early and cracking on.

What is your workshop luxury?

Eek probably Yorkshire Tea Biscuit Brew haha! Absolute guilty pleasure that I’m proud and not guilty about at all.

Your favourite studio lunch?

Crisps and dips, anything snacky and picnic vibe to make you feel like good times are coming.

Best spot in the British Isles?

Eep, maybe where I live now. There is a beach in Northumberland called Howick and we camp there in summer and it’s so fun, the sand on your back is so nice and this was the first time it twigged in my head that the sea doesn’t ‘turn off’ and you can hear it all night long. The dogs love it and we paddle in the morning. 10/10.

What do you find challenging about being a creative?

Getting lonely! Working for yourself is sometimes hard when you haven’t spoke out loud by dinner time! I’m voice note queen so feel quite lucky for that, little voices all day long. I also find it hard to say no to things and then all of a sudden I’m overwhelmed but it always works out in the end and happy days, life’s a slay.

What would you like to learn next?

Urgh this is probably to get a proper website and not an Etsy. But I’m allergic to tech, so maybe I would love to learn some new printing techniques,

How do you let your hair down?

Dog walks and the gym! Or as a typical girlie, a coffee and a mooch. More and more indies are opening up in Newcastle so you can always get a good croissant and flat white on your hot girl walk.

What are you listening to at the moment?

T A Y L O R S W I F T owns me. I’ve never been happier to be in a cult. But other than that it’s all a bit random, Modest Mouse, Self Esteem, The National, Future Islands, Kelis, diff vibes for diff days!

What makes you feel well chuffed?

An early night! And also seeing people have my work in their home will never not make me want to cry.

What is your fave recipe?

I’m absolutely crap at cooking, I’m going to say a picky tea. And I’m not ashamed.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

ALL MY FRIENDS SURROUNDING ME. Cliche but I feel so so lucky to be surrounded by amazing small businesses, Nyōō store, Alex Sickling and of course, Millie from Chuffed you work your ass off and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

What is your fave item on The Chuffed Store?

The Yetton vests! So so incred.

Spring summer autumn or winter?

SUMMER all day every day, I love spring for the lambs, but really it’s because it’s starting to feel like summer.
