About the Maker:
Slow Progress was created in 2021 by textile artist Elyn Middleton.
With a background in Fine Art, Elyn was first drawn to the slow, repetitive processes of weaving and embroidery before falling in love with patchwork quilting. Inspired by Modernist design - particularly the pioneering textile work of Sophie Teauber-Arp, Anni Albers and Gunta Stolzl - she loves the endless possibilities of geometric pattern and is a firm believer in the importance of beautiful objects for the everyday.
Made with purpose, Slow Progress reinterprets a traditional craft with a warm and easy-going modern aesthetic. Working from her home studio in Sheffield, Elyn carefully hand makes every product with high quality and sustainable materials to create timeless designs to treasure, keep and pass on.
